1. Trimet has listed the auto BTU as 6712 (below), yet the national average is listed as 3,549 (5,572, driver only) on Table 2.10
2. Trimet listed SUVs(Personal Trucks) as 8,150, yet the national average is 4,008 (6,894, driver only) on Table 2.10 . Also see Calculating BTU/passenger mile
3. Normally electrical transport energy calcualtions include the power plant losses (due to burning fuel) of about 2/3 of the total energy, so one should multiply Trimet's light rail number by three to get a comparable result. Of course this applies only to that portion of the energy that comes from burning fuel.
